The Minis Committee
TJs Minis exists to introduce children to rugby in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment, where enjoyment, teamwork, and respect come first, and every child is encouraged to grow in confidence on and off the pitch.

None of it happens by magic. Behind every Sunday morning session, festival, and muddy smile is a team of volunteers giving a little of their time to keep the section running. Here's who does what, so you know where to turn, and perhaps where you might fit in yourself.

The Committee
Minis Chair
The Chair leads and coordinates the Minis, making sure everyone knows what they're doing, feels supported, and is pulling in the same direction, and keeps a steady eye on the section overall.

Vice Chair
Shared leadership, continuity, and a second pair of hands at the top. Our Vice Chair deputises for the Chair, help set the season's priorities, and jointly lead on sponsorship and section funding.

Fixtures
Manages all our joint training sessions and fixtures, liaising with opposition clubs and keeping the fixtures calendar clear and up to date, so families always know where they need to be and when.

TJs Mini Festival
Plans and delivers our own home festivals, the days when the club is buzzing, the pitches are full, and visiting teams get to see what TJs is all about, from pitch layout to volunteers to the all-important refreshments.

Socials and Events
Brings the Minis community together off the pitch, with seasonal events like Halloween, Christmas, and our end-of-season celebrations, making sure everyone feels welcome whether it's twenty people or two hundred.

Sponsorship and Fundraising
Secures and manages the sponsorship that keeps the section moving, funding kit, tours, and festivals, building genuine relationships with local businesses, and making sure they're properly thanked for supporting children's sport.

Social Media and Web
Looks after our digital presence, keeping the website and Instagram up to date with fixtures, results, events, and the occasional match photo you didn't know existed, always in line with our safeguarding guidance around images of children.

DBS and Safeguarding
The foundation everything else sits on. This role makes sure every coach and volunteer has the right checks in place, supports the wider club Safeguarding Lead, keeps a central record of any injury or incident reports, and helps make sure concerns can always be raised with confidence.

Within each age group
Every age group, from U6 through to U11, is looked after by its own small team.

Lead Coach
The person the children see every Sunday morning. The Lead Coach plans and delivers age-appropriate sessions, leads the coaching team, prepares the players for fixtures and festivals with fair playing time for all, and celebrates effort and improvement, especially when things go wrong.

Team Admin
The person who makes sure the right information reaches the right people at the right time. The Team Admin runs the age group's Spond communications, keeps records up to date, welcomes new families, coordinates match-day logistics, and quietly takes the admin off the coaches' plates so they can focus on coaching.

Could you help?
Minis rugby doesn't happen without its volunteers. Whether you can help regularly or just now and then, there's a role that fits. You'll be supported, part of a friendly team, and making a real difference to our children's experience of rugby. Most roles are shared, and no one is expected to do everything.
