The visitors burst out of the blocks, immediately putting Maidstone under pressure and coming within inches of an early score.
The hosts briefly steadied themselves with a penalty attempt that drifted wide, but that was as close as Maidstone would come all afternoon.

From there, it was one-way traffic. Slick phase play carved open the home defence and Jack Costello was the first to profit, spotting a gap and diving over for the opener. Luke Beaumont added the extras.

The pattern repeated itself soon after as TJs' forwards and backs worked in harmony once more, Costello slicing through again for his second, Beaumont again unerring from the tee.

A scrum deep near the TJs 22 sparked the next moment of magic. Ben Moore chipped ahead, Luca Helden hacked on, and Moore showed blistering pace to win the race and touch down. Beaumont converted to make it 21–0, before briefly stealing the limelight for all the wrong reasons, the skipper exiting after being violently sick on the pitch, though not before leaving his mark on the game.

TJs finished the half in style. Maidstone cleared their lines, but Helden picked up, darted blind, beat four defenders, drew the last man and slipped a perfect pass to Charles Jaques on his shoulder to finish. Robbie Simmonds converted and the visitors went into the break cruising at 28–0.

The second half began exactly as the first ended. A poor Maidstone clearance found touch, Ben Moore took a quick lineout, hands flashed across the backline and Helden had too much gas on the opposite wing, rounding the final defenders with ease. Beaumont returned to the tee and kept the scoreboard ticking.

Straight from the restart, Nick Latter claimed cleanly, two powerful forward carries set the platform, and Jaques’ clever box kick into space allowed Moore to hack through, gather kindly under the posts and complete his brace. Beaumont converted again.

Moments later, Moore was in again. A Maidstone free kick led to an up-and-under claimed confidently by Beaumont, and from the next phase TJs went wide. Neat hands from Jamie Tutt sent Moore clear, the winger burning defenders to seal a well-earned hat-trick. Simmonds’ drop-kick conversion just slid wide, but the damage was already severe.

The game became scrappier as fatigue set in, with a yellow card apiece, Jaques penalised for not retreating ten and Maidstone following him shortly after. Even then, TJs had the final say. A Maidstone penalty failed to find touch, Costello thundered back into contact, and the ball was shifted wide with clinical precision. Perfectly timed two-on-ones put Alex Gribbon over in the corner with the last play of the game. Conversion missed, but the scoreline read a resounding 56–0 at full time.

Dick of the Day: Luke Beaumont, the skipper somehow threw up around ten times across two sessions and still managed to marshal the side… only to be snipered when a try beckoned.

To cap off a perfect weekend, results elsewhere fell TJs’ way. Westcombe Park 2XV failed to bounce back after their loss to TJs last week, meaning TJs remain unbeaten, sitting 10 points clear at the top of the table and playing like champions in waiting.

The 2XV continue their campaign in 2026 after a well earned break.
