TJs 2XV kept their unbeaten season rolling with a commanding victory over Sidcup 2XV at The Slade, making it an incredible eight wins from eight.

The scoreline may look comfortable, but it was a battle of momentum, grit, and serious finishing power from the home side.

Sidcup came out firing, using the windy conditions to pin TJs deep with clever box kicks. Their early pressure paid off as they hammered at the TJs defensive wall until finally forcing their way over. The conversion added — 0–7, advantage Sidcup, and The Slade was unusually quiet.

But slowly, the tide began to turn.
TJs started to find their rhythm, with the scrum laying down a real statement. Half an hour in, a tidy first-phase strike play saw Tom Roper dart over and convert his own score. 7–7, the energy suddenly back in the ground.

Right before the half-time whistle, a well-worked attacking sequence opened just enough space for Reuben Holmes to snipe his way over. A crucial score that sent TJs in with the edge. 12–7 at HT.

Second Half

If the first half was a grind, the second half was pure TJs domination.

Relentless pressure soon turned into points as Toby Brown muscled his way across the whitewash. Roper added the kick, 19–7.

The backs then joined the party. A slick lineout move put Alex Gribbon slicing through for a classy finish , 24–7 and the crowd could sense the floodgates creaking open.

A spell of kick tennis suddenly sparked into life when Holmes danced through the line, offloading to Gribbon who beat the trailing Sidcup defence to grab his brace, 29–7.

Sidcup showed plenty of fight and struck back in the corner, trimming it to 29–12, but TJs weren’t done yet.

A brilliant defensive stand in the 22 turned into magic, Holmes, again the creator, flipped a cheeky between the legs pop to a flying Julien Brosse, who burned up the wing before feeding Jack Costello to finish the job (celebrations… questionable). Roper slotted again, 36–12.

The final home score came from more sharp work in the red zone as Brosse drew his man and offloaded inside to Nick Latter, who dove in for his 4th of the season (not bad for a geriatric) Roper added the extras, 43–12.

Sidcup nabbed a late consolation down the left and chased a bonus point on the final play, but TJs dug in and the whistle confirmed another superb victory.
