The team delivered an impressive attacking home performance to secure a 39–20 victory over a strong Folkestone opposition, showing excellent attacking intent, supporting defensive lines and the ability to build pressure throughout the match.

TJs made a flying start, racing into a 20–0 lead with four early tries. Tiegan, Catherine, Marsh and Evie all crossed the line as the team made the most of its opportunities and established control of the scoreboard. Catherine unfortunately took a bang to the nose resulting in a quick temporary team change, but the team remained calm and collected. Folkestone fought back with two tries to reduce the deficit to 20–10, but the team responded well to regain momentum which they took into the second half.

The strength and depth in the squad numbers which has built hugely this season allowed for several team changes in the second half. With fresh legs on the pitch and Catherine returning to the field (despite her injury), a further try from Evie extended the lead, with the attacking play continuing to create scoring opportunities. Ella, on her TJs debut, scored her first League try converted by Belle.

Folkestone remained determined and added further points of their own, but the team continued to find ways through the defence. Another storming run saw Ella score her second try of the game, which was converted by Belle helped maintain the advantage before the side added a final score to bring the tally to an impressive 39 points.

With seven tries on the scoresheet, the performance highlighted the team’s attacking threat and ability to respond when the opposition began to fight back.

The team spirit, positive attitude and camaraderie was in visual abundance. The support from the sidelines was fantastic to see. Despite the physical demands, players came off the pitch smiling — with perhaps the odd grimace along the way!
