TJ Stuart Thomas is going again with his walking madness ahead of next Saturday's home game against Plymouth at The Slade
You will recall that back in October last year Stu and his intrepid walkers made the trek from way out in East Kent to walk beside the River Medway all the way to the Club
Plenty did the whole walk whilst others joined Stu at different points to show their support and more
That initial effort was to raise monies for The Brain Tumour charity following Stu's own diagnosis
However this time Stu's renewed effort is inspired by Lewis Moody and his own MND diagnosis which has received a fair amount of publicity recently - find more on BBC iPlayer
Lewis's diagnosis and public revelations reminded Stu so much of how he and his own family reacted when he was diagnosed and it has inspired him to raise funds for research into finding a cure for MND.
Stu has chosen the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation which you will all be familiar with and Stu will be wearing tartan shorts.
Stu told us "I know it's short notice but coming up to the anniversary of last year's spectacular it was too good an opportunity to miss.
I'm not afraid to say I cried watching Lewis on the sofa, interviewed by the BBC with his wife, struggling to make sense of the reality of what lies ahead.
It took me straight back to the same scenes I went through last year. As he talked it was like looking in a mirror.
Through the Lewis Moody Foundation he has been supporting those of us with brain tumours since 2014. The least I can do is try and lend support following his cruel diagnosis.
Join me walking if you can and donate if you can too"
The walk will take place on Saturday 18th October 2025 leaving Maidstone West Station at 0730hrs and picking up those who prefer the shorter walk at Branbridges Café, East Peckham at about 1100hrs. Final destination being TJRFC at about 1400hrs for a home game against Plymouth Albion at 1500hrs.
