Report by Matthew Jones - Lead Coach
A great day on the hill at Chipstead RFC saw our U11s step out for their minis festival swansong, and what a great day it was!
The weather was cool to start with but warmed up well, as did our players, as we took on the hosts as well as Warlingham, Purley John Fisher, Streatham & Croydon, Old Whits, and Old Alleynians.
Our two teams played really well and grew in confidence throughout the morning, with some strong tackling and rucking, some great passing and supportive play, leading to a hatful of tries, with very few conceded due to our strong defence - they actually have listened in training!!!
There were also some sublime moments of individual brilliance, that demonstrated what a great squad we have at U11s. The best moments of the day for me however were the accolades shared by the opposition coaches, all six of which remarked how well set up our teams were and that they enjoyed playing against us as it was a huge learning experience for them. This not only amplifies what a great group of boys we have but also the work our coaching team have put in!
