TJs Gear Up for National 1 Campaign

TJs Gear Up for National 1 Campaign

Adam Hookway20 Aug - 06:41

September is just around the corner and TJs are getting ready for their National 1 campaign

TJs had a first run out away to BSE last Saturday and began the job of blending in new signings with well established TJs and some exciting colts from the TJs Academy
The pre-season efforts take another step forward with a trip to Canterbury this Friday night and an 8pm run out under lights against last season's N2E opponents
TJs have recruited well during the Summer as they look to put together a strong squad to compete at level 3 of the RFU rugby pyramid
New signings include Dan Laventure (Back Row Rosslyn Park Captain), Owen Hewett (Chinnor Full Back), Tom Mannix (Centre), Lewis Gjaltema (Quins scrum half), Jay Smith (Hooker/Back Row), Archie White (Quins Back Row), Henry Paul (Doncaster Knights/Esher Prop), Ben Harrison (Camberley Second Row), Julien Brosse (French leagues - prop), Oscar Waite (Richmond Back Row) and Nathan Earle (Ealing - Wing)
A significant number of last season's title winning squad remain including Curtis Barnes, Sam Evans, Tom Kendrick, Harrison Sims, Shadyn Osgood, Duncan Tout, Josh Tusler, Connor Lloyd, Tommy Nicoll, Vince Everitt, Hugo Culverhouse, Will Holling, Bobby Bratton, Luke Boon, Jack Whitmarsh and more
TJs also welcome back the likes of George Merrick (Quins) and Alfie Scopes (TJs Academy and Saracens) whilst ex-TJs Academy players such as Will Morris will be looking to impress
Departures appear to have been few to date including Isaac Ridge to Chinnor and Truman Sullivan joining Sidcup - we wish them well
Quite a sizeable change to the TJs squad then and they will need to gel quickly with the N1 season starting on 6th September away at Leicester Lions before our first home game at The Slade on the 13th KO at 3pm v Rosslyn Park - Super Saturday for sure with plenty of fun, games and entertainment before and after the N1 match up
And then two away games to Rams and Dings Crusaders follow
