Tip Top Tjs

Adam Hookway2 Mar - 06:30

With wins for all the senior Men XVs and a National Cup QF victory for the U16 Girls the weekend went well for TJs

Tjs at last got back to winning ways in National 1 as a Tom Kendrick hat-trick helped them to a nervy 28-31 win on the road at Sedgley Park.
Their hosts fought back from a 7-19 deficit to push TYJs all the way after Lewis Gjaltema and Connor Lloyd had given Tjs a very early lead with two converted tries.
Kendrick added a third in the first half and just after the break added his second to earn Tjs their try bonus point. His third sealed the deal but Park closed the gap in the final minutes to earn themselves 2 bonus points to boot.
No change in league position for Tjs as they stay 7th with 5 games to go - the next game is at The Slade on the 14th March when Sale are the visitors
The 2s were in Counties 2 Kent action and a 62-0 win over bottom club Vigo keeps Tjs title hopes intact. Tjs are 6 points clear with a game in hand.
Alex Borg, Harvey Furneaux, Albert Pinfold, Guthrie Holliday (2) all crossed int eh first half and with Robbie Simmonds adding the extras Tjs led 33-0 at the break. Pinfold added his second before Max Turpin, Jack Costello and Nick Senior all scored and Guthrie sealed the deal with his hat-trick effort late on. Simmonds again added the extras to make it a 69-0 win
The 3s also won with a 22-46 victory away at Gillingham Anchorians 2s in their Kent B Rural match up and they lie third just 3 points behind the leaders Maidstone 2s with a game in hand.
On Sunday it was the TJs Academey U16 Girls who took centre stage with an excellent 17-24 away win in their National Cup QAF against Havant. They play their semi final later in March with opponents and venue yet tbc
Tjs Academy Colts As and Bs travelled to Canterbury with the As winning 17-20 and the Bs losing 26-7.
The U14As lost 22-24 with Westcombe Park in an excellent match of 4 tries apiece. The U13s won at Canterbury as well with a 20-30 scoreline
And finally the U12As got back to winning ways at The Slade with a 15-10 win over Blackheath but the Bs came up short in a 30-5 away loss to Dartford Valley.
Well done to everyone that played, coached and supported Tjs this weekend
