Big Hike to Support Stu and Charity

Big Hike to Support Stu and Charity

Adam Hookway14 Apr - 05:35

Tjs to walk 100km to Bishop's Stortford to support fellow TJ Stu and raise monies for charities of his choice

A powerful band of TJs will be setting off on Wednesday to walk 100KM in 4 stages to celebrate TJs return to National 1 season but much more importantly to continue raising funds for charities supported by our dear friend and Tj Stuart Russell-Thomas.
Richard Pickles, John & Theresa Jenner and John Ridley make up the quartet of intrepid walkers and Gary Smith will be (camper van karaoke and road rage optional) in a support vehicle. A number of friends, family and Tjs will be joining the merry(ish) strollers on the route and it's expected that many Tjs will be on hand at NBS to join in the celebrations and their chosen destination.
Wednesday 15th April - walking from TJs to Chislehurst
Thursday 16th April - Chislehurst to Woodford (staying at The Royal Oak, Woodford overnight
Friday 17th April - Woodford to Harlow - staying at The Green Man
Saturday 18th April - Harlow to The Half Moon, BS (lunchtime) and the final push (less than 1km) to Bishop's Stortford RFC aiming to arrive before KO at 3pm

Stu was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in June 2024 in the form of a grade 4 glioblastoma tumour. Since his diagnosis, Stu has been an inspiration to everyone who has met him, raising awareness of these charities through his words and deeds.
Stu isn't well enough to join the walkers this time but we are all honoured to do this one in his name
If you are able to support the walkers and Stu by way of a donation supporting The Brain Tumour charity and My Name'5 Doddie Foundation, please got the GIVE AS YOU LIVE - DONATE website, click on the DONATE TO A FRIEND PAGE button and search 100km hike for Stu
Don't forget to add a suitable message of support and just as importantly 'Gift Aid' if able to
If anyone would like to join them along the way for any section or part section or to buy them a beer, please contact John Jenner on 07806 731112 who can provide a more detailed daily time-line and route for the walk.
