A Very Personal Message

28th December 2020

A very sad ending to a very sad year.

John died unexpectantly of a heart attack on the 8th December. He always said when it was time for him to go, he wanted to be 'shot' by a jealous husband or have a quick heart attack and not suffer and he wanted to die at home. He got his wish. And if he came back, I would say "well planned but terrible timing".

It was a privilege and an honour to be able to have the opportunity to share his life. He was a proud man, kind, generous, passionate about cricket and rugby and found the good in everyone. His sense of humour was next to none. In fact, he would say "I have paid my taxes, bills and council tax and I am unable to get a date for my funeral in the crematorium, they can't fit me in".

If there is a nice thing about it all it was that we were together and at home and he did not suffer.

I, like many others, will miss such a lovely man and my life, and John's, has changed dramatically. John's advice would be "Love each other, care for each other and look after each other as life is precious and can be taken away in seconds".

My beloved Herbert, John, Bull Eaton (known as John Eaton).

Jeannette Pepper
