Club President and the TJ Community

26th March 2020

Dear TJs

Itrust all is well with you and yours and that you are all, where appropriate, hunkering down and keeping safe.

These are very strange times in which we live, especially given that our Club and the great game of rugby exists to bring people together to play, coach and support - it is certainly counter intuitive to do the opposite!

However, at times like these, our game’s guiding principles, such as discipline, respect and teamwork, are more important than ever, so let’s do our bit to support each other and our community; and in particular let's all concentrate on helping the doctors, nurses and care workers in our area by decreasing their workload and all staying safe and well.

If anyone out there needs help, then let us know. We will do our level best to assist or to put you in touch with other TJs who can. The rugby family is used to looking after our own and the TJ family is no exception to this. So please feel free to contact us either by email to or direct message us on our Facebook or Twitter pages

As we all know, the season finished early and our teams have all performed exceptionally well across all levels within the club. My thanks to all players, supporters, volunteers, sponsors and everyone who takes part in the workings of TJs. We expect to hear from the RFU during April on how the senior league and cup competitions will be concluded for the season.

Off the pitch, we have had to postpone our ever popular annual June double-header - the SIBA/TJ Beer Festival and the Sportsmen’s Dinner with James Haskell. We will communicate new dates as soon as they are known.

Finally rest assured that planning is already under way for next season and we look forward to the time when we can again gather together and be thankful for what we all have.

Stay well and COUTJs!
