Drying Out? We Hope So

5th March 2020

A series of storms and health scares dominate the news at the moment and the sporting world is being affected too. Hopefully everyone can come through it all unscathed but challenges await at every turn.

The 1st XV are due to be back at The Slade on Saturday for a N2S R25 clash with Clifton from Bristol. The game is scheduled to be at the Club with a 3pm KO BUT but now switched to the Vizards 3G as the grass pitch is unplayable. NOW AT Vizards 3G

Clifton will arrive in confident mood. They edged us at their place in the first tie and last week saw off Henley Hawks 20-10 on the Dings all weather surface. TJs came through a tough battle with Westcliff and Storm Jorge last time out 12-19 to go back to the top of the table. Another crucial game then if we are to keep the hunt for promotion on track.

No league games for the 2s and 3s so a combined XV is due to travel to Warlingham for a friendly and a 2.30pm KO

No game for the TJ Pink Ladies this weekend but they have a massive game the following Sunday when they head to Lewes to play a league and cup double header. The Pink Ladies are top of the table and a win should secure the title. It would also secure them a semi final spot in the RFU Junior Plate and a home tie against Yeovil - if you can get to Lewes on the 15th March for a 2pm KO then your support would be most welcome!

The Academy have a strong of Cup games this Sunday and three Kent knockout games. The U16s have a Kent Cup QF vs Old Alleynians at Vizards 3G with a 10.30 KO. The U18As face Canterbury on the 3G at Noon in a Kent Trophy SF and the Bs have a Kent Trophy SF vs Ashford on grass but also at Vizards at 11.30.

The U13s Spitfires are also at Vizards on grass as they take on one of the best squads in Sussex, Brighton. Should be a cracking game with an early KO we believe.

Six Nations rugby is still on with England v Wales at 4.45pm on Saturday

And don;t forget.........Saturday 14th March is a special Charity day with a TJs All Stars XV taking on Weavering Warriors at The Slade . Get down and support a great local charity and enjoy some fun rugby and Six Nations too
