A21 Closed But TJs Is Open

13th February 2020

No Six Nations rugby and No Beer Festival this weekend but we do have the 1st XV back at home to take on Old Albanians at 2.30pm in N2S Round 23.

The game will now be played at Vizards 3G in Haysden Lane as the sportsground is waterlogged and more rain is expected. The Club will lay on an 88 seater coach to transport lunchers from the Club to Vizards and back again on match day

Spectators are welcome to attend the game and the entry price of £10 members and £12 non members applies.

Parking is limited at Vizards and bearing in mind the A21 closure diversions (see below) may impact on traffic flow in the immediate area - so please think before you travel. Please DO NOT PARK in Haysden Lane itself. There are strict parking regulations in place so spare parking is available at the Country Park a few hundred metres further on.

The game will be live streamed via Facebook and we will be checking to see if we can relay it to the Clubhouse TV as well - we will update here once tried and tested and working

We are at the sharp end of the season and after last Saturday's loss away at Redruth and a weekend off just around the corner things are very tight at the top of N2S again.

TJs loss was Taunton's gain as they went a point clear from TJs and Henley. Redruth's win edged them to within striking distance of the top three so we now have a four horse race for the top two spots.

TJs beat OAs 9-12 in attrocious conditions earlier in the season so let's hope for a result repeat but not the weather!

The 3s are also in action in Kent & East Sussex Rural D4 with an away game at Maidstone. TJs were leading the table but a couple of missed weekends means they need to get back in the rugby saddle with an away win the aim.

On Sunday the TJs Pink Ladies head to Lewes to take on their second string in a top of the table clash. 1st v 2nd and a couple of scores to settle no doubt

Sunday will also see the Minis/Junioors in action and in search of any playable surface no doubt again. Vizards is proving an invaluable facility and so too is the support of the Schools at Somerhill - thank you!

And don't forget that the traffic will be an issue from the 14th February through until the 24th February as the A21 is closed between the Sevenoaks Weald and Vauxhall junctions. This will mean increased traffic through Tonbridge itself so if you are heading for TJs think about your mode of transport and route before setting off - or you might be very late and miss some of the action
