Top Two at The Slade

2nd October 2019

Following a perfect start to their league season, with four bonus point wins from four matches, we are gearing up for a top of the table clash with Taunton Titans.

Taunton are the only other team in the league who remain unbeaten, with TJs just one point ahead of the visitors courtesy of an extra bonus point. The match on Saturday will therefore ruin one of the team's unbeaten record.

Head coach Peter Dankert tells us "We have had a perfect start to the season but there is no doubt that the match versus Taunton will provide our biggest challenge to date. They are always a very well drilled side and we will need to be at our best, but we're relishing the opportunity to put our promotion credentials to the test.

The 'clash of the titans' kicks off at 3pm at The Slade ground and the home team go into the match off the back of an impressive away victory at Bournemouth, winning 10-49.

Danks continued: "As ever, home advantage can be telling in a tight match and we are hoping to get as many supporters as possible along  to see some top quality rugby and be our 16th man in what will be a very tight game."

The day starts a bit earlier of course with RWC 2019 action  and England v Argentina at 9am - the the Club will be open for food and hot beverages from 8.30am so get down early and stay for the big game too

The 2s are also due to be in Invicta 1 league action after a week off and they head to Medway. The 3s will be smarting from their reverse at Sevenoaks last time out and welcome Whitsable 2s in K&S Rural D4 action. Both games at 3pm as well.

On Sunday TJs Pink Ladies return to league action after a thrilling, but losing, Cup game from last Sunday. Hove are the visitors with a 2pm KO

We are also hosting a Girls Rugby event on Sunday from 11am for an hour and all Girls between the ages of U12 to U18 are welcome to come along and give it a go! - see picture for more details

The Academy are out in force on Sunday too with the U18s away at Old Elthamians in the Kent Colts 12s at 1.30pm. The U17s are at home to Sevenoaks in a Kent League game at 11am, The U15s v Beckenham is off as Bs cant raise a team sadly. The U15s will be training.

The impressive U13s are on the road and split between the Dorking Festival and Sittingbourne whilst the U12s and U14s are at home with Sittingbourne.

The majority of Minis are at Medway but the U6s and some of the U9s will be training at home

So a bit of something for everyone and the weather doesn't look too bad either!
