TJs Buzzing Right to the End

25th April 2019

TJs debut at Birmingham & Solihull in Round 30 with both squads bringing the curtain down on two very different seasons.

TJs are aiming for one more win to finish third in N2s with just 3 losses and a draw in the deficit column. Birmingham on the other hand are already relegated despite winning 10 of their games Bonus points have done for them with Dings and Old Reds also winning 10 games but BPs keeping them ahead.

The Bees were a tough nut to crack back at The Slade in Round 1 when TJs edged it 22-19. No easy games at this level, still.

Elsewhere Champions Rams visit second place and playoff combatant Canterbury. It will be interesting to see how this one plays out as Canterbury take on Chester, the runners up in National 2 North the following Saturday.

Henley Hawks are of course still chasing us down for third and they play Bury St Edmunds at home to see if they can overhaul us. The rest of the places are largely sorted with LIWG and Guernsey heading south with the Bees.

In National 1 things have gone right to the wire at both ends of the table. Ampthill & District should clinch the title with a victory at Loughborough Students, a result that will send the scholars down, perhaps to N2S.

Old Elthamians will be hoping for a major slip up as they entertain Rotherham. Esher look likely to drop too as they travel to Blackheath and the third relegation spot is between Caldy, who visit Birmingham & Moseley, and Cambridge who are at Sale FC. Tight.

On the way up to N2S are Sutton & Epsom as London & SE Premier champions and on Saturday Westcliff will be hoping to join them as they take on Barnstaple in the playoff. Anyone remember the SW Club nicking it 21-20 in a playoff spot at ours? Should be another tight one
