TJs Close in on Third Place

TJs welcomed Clifton to The Slade on Saturday to bring the curtain down on their Home N2S campaign with one game still to play, on the road at Birmingham Bees (27th April)

TJs have lost just once all season at home and a big TJ crowd were on hand to celebrate a nother win and enjoy some fast open rugby from TJs.

Another maximum points haul was achieved with the try bouns point secured in the first half despite Clifton crossing first. 

Third place can be secured on the 27th when TJs travel to relegated Birmingham Bees who lost 38-24 to the Champions Rams. 

Assistant Coach Nick Oldham bid farewell to TJs after the game and is off to pastures new. A Big Thank You to Nick for all his efforts from everyone at TJs

Canterbury secured a runners up spot after a 22-31 defeat of Barnes whilst Henley remain in the hunt for third as they saw off Old Albanians 21-50 to remain level on points with TJs.

Guernsey and LIWG were already down and they both lost with the Islanders going down 19-50 to Taunton and Bury St Edmunds routing the Irish 53-7. 

Dings survive due to the Bees losing and they went down 33-36 to Worthing and Old Reds beat Redruth 51-24.

So it's all sorted at top and bottom in N2S with Rams promoted and Canterbury facing Chester from N2N who fnished runners up to Hull Ionians who return to National 1. Canterbury will take on Chester at home on Saturday 4th May

Ampthill put one hand on the National 1 title with a 57-12 defeat of Sale FC but Old Elthamians still have hopes of overhauling them after a 19-28 win at Bishops' Stortford. Ampthill should wrap things up though on the 27th as they travel to Loughborough Students and a win will send the scholars down, perhaps to N2S. 

With three relegated it's anyone from Birmingham Moseley, Caldy, Cambridge, the students and Esher with the last round of games being massive for all.

Sutton & Epsom won London & SE Premier with a 31-38 win over Bedford Athletic to join us in N2S. Westcliff grabbed a playoff spot with a 26-33 win at Dorking as Wimbledon slipped up drawing 12 all at Tring to miss out. Westcliff will take on Barnstaple at home after they finished runners up in SW Premier. Bournemouth were convincing winners of that title and they too join us oin N2S next season

Chingford, Brentwood and Shelford are all relegated from London & SE Premier with T Wells finishing seventh after just losing 33-32 at Hertford in their final game.

In London 1 South Sevenoaks beat Thurrock 10-26 to secure the title and promotion to L&SE Premier. Brighton snatched runners up spot and a playoff with a 24-26 win over Camberley which left the Surrey outfit in third. Medway ended up fourth as they lost 29-28 at Havant.

Beckenham celebrated winning the London 2 SE crown with a 55-12 defeat of Gravesend whilst Horsham secured the playoff spot with a 76-12 rout of Maidstone who are relegated along with Aylesford and Heathfield & W.
