BIG Senior Weekend

12th September 2018

All the senior sides are due to be in action this weekend although the 2s are now in search of a friendly after Dartfordians postponed their Invicta 1 tie

The 1st XV take on LIWG at The Slade in R3 N2S hoping to bounce back from their disappointing loss at Canterbury last Saturday.

LIWG are old friends and foes and they will be arriving in search of their first win having lost to Rams 10-41 and Barnes 33-14 already. A boystrous lunch, hosted by the highly esteemed (aka tall) Christopher Holder Esq and touchline will be sure to enjoy the craic. And we have stand in Presidential speaker Chris Holder to warm everyone up and John ‘Jumble’ Pemble will be celebrating is 75th Birthday to boot

The 3s are at Gillingham Anchorians in their Five Grain Division 4 West opener. Both games KO at 3pm

The TJs Pink Ladies start the following weekend (23rd) when they travel to St Francis (Crawley) for a 2.30pm KO in their opening WCSE2 game after a successful warm up game against OEs. The Ladies are looking sleek and fit so will be hoping for a positive outcome to start the season for sure.

Don’t forget we have a couple of BIG TJ events on the horizon too with Oktoberfest at TJs on 6th October and an Evening With Nick Easter on 30th November. Contact Katie Major asap re Oktoberfest and Mike Grasby or Adam Hookway for the Nick Easter evening

Other games in N2S this weekend include Taunton Titans who take on Clifton this Friday night under lights. A win for the Titans and they would go top, at least until Rams take on Henley Hawks in a 1st v 2nd clash the next day

BSE entertain Guernsey with the Islanders searching for a first win but the trip and form guide suggesting they may have to wait a little longer. Worthing welcome Redruth who tend not to travel too well over the longer distances and N2S newbies this season Barnes face Old Albanians.

Dings Crusaders will be hoping to avoid an away sting as Birmingham Bees look to swarm all over them whilst Old Redcliffians will have Canterbury to contend with as the Kent club make the long trip west.

So a few miles to be covered this weekend by the travelling faithfulls and doubtless another shift in divisional fortunes to be noted Saturday evening.
