N2S Disappointment for TJs but Dev Squad Win

It wa sback fown to earth for TJs on Saturday as the visitors Canterbury took all 5 points and confined TJs to their first defeat for just under a year.

Cantebruy came out firing and were soon 12 nil up. TJs managed a penalty from Liam Prescott but 2 more tires and a penalty try put TJs in 31-3 down at the break and a little shell-shocked.

Known for a strong second half TJs pulled themselves back into it with tries from Jon McMahon, Will Colderick and Hugo Watson and an upset of sorts seemed on the cards at 24-31. 

Hpwever Canterbury had one last effort in them which they took to close it out at 24-36 to record their first win of the campaign.

Elsewhere Barntaple had the result of the day with a 29-24 win over Redruth. Taunton went top with a 10-36 victory at winless Redcliffians. Worthing saw off Wimbledon 15-31 to claim third spot

Bury St E bounced back with a tight 16-20 win at Broadstreet and Redingensians beat London Irish WG 44-16. Chinnor secured their first win with a 39-20 defeat of Henley whilst Clifton, who TJs travel to play next Saturday, slid to a 57-5 loss at Cinderford.
