TJs Sign Off on a superb N2S Season

28th April 2018

TJs were assured of 6th place in N2S ahead of their last, and 30th, game of their debut N2S season. BSE were hoping to seal 7th spot but a strong TJ fightback in the final quarter gave TJs maximum points in a 36-28 win.

The game was a topsy turvy affair but BSE led for much of it as they went in 10-14 ahead at half time. A red card for Sami Atiola gave TJs a tough task and BSE led 10-21 at one stage. But TJs have found a legitimate fighting spirit many times this season and they clawed their way back to edge in front 29-28 with 5 minutes left before Reece Conlon crossed to clinch the decisive score

Elsewhere Cinderford celebrated their league title and promotion with a 34-12 victory over Canterbury (10th). Chinnor beat Clifton (11th) 52-14 to secure second spot and a home play off against Sedgley Park.

At the bottom Barnstaple and Wimbledon faced one another hoping that the victors would survive the drop. A 17-14 win for Barnstaple (14th) sent Wimbledon (15th) down but the win did not save them as Old Redlciffians (12th) beat Redruth (5th) 34-12 to save themselves. London Irish WG (13th) needed a point from their game with Worthing (7th) and they got it in a 19-26 loss

Redingensians (3rd) hammered home a 51-0 nil defeat of Henley (9th) and Broadstreet (16th) nearly ended on a win with a 21-26 loss to Taunton (4th)

So we lose Broadstreet, Wimbledon and Barnstaple out the bottom and Cinderford out of the top. Chinnor could join them if they win their playoff.

Joining N2S next season will be Dings Crusaders (SW champions) to make it three Bristol trips with Clifton and Old Reds. Guernsey are also up after they beat Bournemouth 38-23 in the SE/SE play off. Barnes won L&SE Premier so we head back on the Barnes trail next season and Old Albanians should come our way as they were relegated from National 1.

We won't know the final position until after next weekend when final games for a few higher up and play offs are completed of course

The 4s signed off on their Late Red season with a narrow 34-32 loss at Weavering Warriors
