TJ's 3rd XV travelled to Ash 1s on Saturday for a league match. The lads have had a tough season, losing a number of games by the narrowest of margins - this one was no exception with a 13 - 9 result. The side were hampered in many ways, losing a car on route through breakdown. The following morning TJ President Mike Grasby received the following email from Ash RFC's captain, which we feel deserves a special website mention as it shows that the rugby spirit is still alive and kicking Good morning gentlemen, Gents i would just on behalf of my whole team like to pass on a huge congratulations to your 3rds side who travelled down to us yesterday, they had a car break down on the way and had to play with 14 players, but never for 1 second backed down from their task. It was an amazing display of guts, grit and determination and they pushed us to the wire until the final whistle. We tip our hats to them and wish them better luck in the future, because had the extra man been on the pitch i'm sure the outcome could have been much different. Sincerely Kirk williamson (Captain) A suitable and worthy response has been sent and we wish Ash well for the rest of the season also - memo to Rick O'Shea (3rd Team skipper) - make sure you pick a mechanic or go in convoy next time 3s at Ash - post match we assume
